Who
A social fixture and accessories designer, Gugelmann runs the luxury jewelry company Filigrana by Zani, which produces handmade earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings.
Backstory
Zani was raised in Greenwich, but her origins are slightly more exotic than your typical socialite's: Her fashion designer mother, Jeannette Agosta Gugelmann, was born and raised in Peru. After attending Bowdoin, Zani moved to New York and dabbled in fashion PR and magazines before turning to the well-worn path of jewelry design. She now oversees Filigrana by Zani, a collection of baubles inspired by her Peruvian roots. Gugelmann treks back and forth to a remote village every month to oversee production of her intricate gold and silver pieces (or so she says), but you needn't go that far —you'll find her chandelier earrings on sale at Kirna Zabête for $1,500.
Designing bracelets and rings—and nights out on the town—aren't the only items on Zani's agenda. Like a handful of other near-ubiquitous fixtures on the circuit, she's used her social presence to make the leap into modeling. Over the past few years, she's appeared in ad campaigns for Judith Leiber, Bill Blass New York, and Charriol watches.
Personal
Gugelmann says she was engaged briefly in her early 20s and has been single since then. She lives in SoHo and spends weekends in Bridgehampton.
