Who
Trish McEvoy is a beauty and style guru with her own line of makeup, fragrance, and décor.
Backstory
McEvoy had fittingly glamorous beginnings: Born in Ireland, she spent the first five years of her life in Berlin, where her grandmother owned a perfumery. McEvoy's mother later moved the family to France, then to Atlanta when Trish was 12. She got her first job in the industry at a specialty make-up store after graduating from high school. Seeking bigger and better things, she moved to New York and took a job at Henri Bendel, and it was while working at the Fifth Avenue store in the 1980s that she noticed a gap in the market—decent make up brushes.
She set about producing a line of her own, based on the tools that professionals use, and followed up with a make-up, skincare and fragrance line. These days her products are sold at over 100 retailers nationwide and she also operates a skincare center in New York with her husband, cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Ronald Sherman. The 3,000-square-foot clinic offers facials, laser hair removal, and Botox.
She published a book, The Power of Makeup: Looking Your Best at Every Age, in 2003.
Personal
McEvoy and Sherman have been together since the late 1970s. They live in the East 60s, not far from their luxe skin care clinic.
