Who
Like her sister Samantha Boardman Rosen and her mother Pauline Pitt, Serena is a social fixture and regular at galas and benefits around town. She's also a real estate broker at Sotheby's.
Backstory
Serena is the daughter of financier Dixon Boardman and interior designer/heiress Pauline Pitt, whose great-grandfather, George Baker, founded First National Bank, the institution that later became Citibank. After college—and in between society functions—Serena dabbled in the auction industry, working at Sotheby's and at LuxuryFinder.com during the dotcom era. These days, she sells real estate at Sotheby's International Realty, leveraging her connections to the Upper East Side trust-fund set to sell property to fellow members of the city's social elite.
On the job
Some of Boardman's notable deals have included Steve Roth's $25 million purchase of Gianni Agnelli's 778 Park apartment, the sale of the 730 Park co-op previously occupied by art collector/trust-funder Adam Lindemann and his then-wife Sloan Lindemann Barnett, and Jonathan Tisch's purchase of a co-op at 2 East 67th Street for $48 million in 2008. The biggest property on Boardman's plate: the $75 million East 71st Street townhouse that formerly housed Larry Salander's Salander-O'Reilly Galleries. (It isn't as if she had to elbow her way through a pack of greedy brokers to get the listing—the building is owned by her brother-in-law, real estate developer Aby Rosen.) It's her ubiquity on the social scene, though—not her real estate career—that earns her attention in society rags and fashion publications. She's a regular sight at galas, art openings and fashion shows.
Personal
Serena has never married. In 2004, she was listed as one of the Post's most eligible bachelorettes: "Pro: She's blond, beautiful, and rich. Con: You'd better be too, if you want to date her." She lives on East 72nd Street, around the corner from her mom.
