First- interestingly enough now that Berger is again representing Carey, it says the singer is overshadowed by her craziness which is nonsense today. Like any good reporter in news, to truly capture a more "objective" report on a singer you have to look at as much information that is given in the media on her and disseminate it sensibly. She's an eccentric personality with a strong sense of humor and it has become public knowledge that any supposed "craziness" she willingly involves herself in at this point is simply to poke fun at her own image or for her own enjoyment. Second- she started separating from Motolla romantically and professionally during the creation of the Butterfly album, not during Rainbow, and many of the videos and the singles of that period were directly her own vision as she has said herself, not of his crafting. That album is revered by fans, including this one, as her best to date. Therefore, her "downfall" you describe beginning with Rainbow and her parting ways with Motolla is incorrect not only because she had her biggest first week sales at that time with the Rainbow album, but also because of the falsities just mentioned. I liked her when she first came out. But then she started dressing like a hooker, and singing horrible songs. But then this last album came out, which was shockingly good. She still dresses like a $15 hook. But I must admit, she is back.
