Who

Baum is one of the top restaurant publicists in the city. She's repped just about every big chef and restaurateur in town at one point or another.

Backstory

Baum has a formidable familial connection the restaurant industry: Her husband, Charles Baum, is the son of the late restaurateur-for-the-ages Joe Baum, who developed some of New York's grandest dining destinations as part of Restaurant Associates, including the Four Seasons and Windows on the World. Jennifer started off her career in beauty PR. It was after meeting Charles—who at the time was a part-owner of the Beacon restaurant on West 56th Street and Windows on the World—that she started a restaurant consulting firm called the Bartiste Group. The company morphed into Bullfrog & Baum soon after.

Of note

Like Karine Bakhoum and Steven Hall, Baum is almost exclusively focused on the restaurant industry and over the years she's repped most of the major restaurateurs in town. Some of the people she's worked with over the past decade: Bobby Flay, Marcus Samuelsson, Terrance Brennan, Marc Murphy, David Burke, Donatella Arpaia, Serge Becker, Laurent Tourondel, Steve Hanson, Peter Glazier, Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Phil Suarez. While the bulk of Baum's business is getting restaurants' names out there, she also handles PR for the occasional non-restaurant. She's repped Olivia Chantecaille's family's beauty business, Jon Snyder's Nolita-based ice cream operation, and the "PowerNap" chain Yelo.

For the record

Baum's company's name is a hat-tip to her late, frog-obsessed mother-in-law.

Personal

Baum and her husband live on West End Avenue, and also have a vacation home in Maryland.
