Who

With his partner, colorist Joel Warren, Edward Tricomi presides over the Warren-Tricomi salons in New York, Connecticut and California. He's known for his rock star look—and rather quirky cutting style.

Backstory

Brooklyn native Tricomi started out as an aspiring musician but soon turned to styling hair, first attracting attention more than two decades ago when legendary Vogue editor Polly Mellon mentioned him in the mag. In 1989, he partnered with Warren and nail specialist Roxanna Pintilie, and opened the first Warren-Tricomi salon on 57th Street. They've gone on to open three additional salons in Rockefeller Center, LA and Greenwich, Conn. But it's Tricomi's quick hands—and frenzied clipping—that have earned him the most fame, as well as the nickname Edward Scissorhands. Celebs who have subjected themselves to the technique include Kate Beckinsale, Ashley Judd, Sharon Stone and Natalie Portman.

On the side

Tricomi isn't just focused on hair these days. He and Warren recently established Warren-Tricomi Reserve, a concierge service that books everything from private jets to tables in hard-to-get-into restaurants. They also launched Warren-Tricomi Artist Management, which manages make-up artists and stylists.

On screen

Bravo tested out the idea of situating a reality show at the salon when a cast member of Bravo's Blow Out moved to NYC to take up residence at Warren-Tricomi. Alas, the show never got picked up.

Personal

Tricomi—who maintains the look of an aging rock star thanks to his long, black hair—once dated Debbie Dickinson, the sister of Janice "World's First Supermodel" Dickinson. He's now married to a different Debbie, and they recently moved into a new apartment on West 52nd Street, a few blocks from the salon.
