Who

Co-anchor of Good Morning America, Cuomo is the tall, dark and handsome broadcaster middle-aged women love to wake up to. He's the son of Mario Cuomo, the brother of Andrew Cuomo, and the husband of Cristina Greeven Cuomo.

Backstory

The son of former New York Governor Mario Cuomo, Chris was 12 when his dad was elected in 1983. Following law school—and after a stint as a lawyer at a financial firm—Cuomo turned to TV and became co-host of The Geraldo Rivera Show in 1998. (Rivera liked to call Cuomo his "young protégé.") In 1999, he arrived at ABC and spent half a decade reporting for just about every news-related program the network had on the air—20/20, Primetime, World News Now, World News This Morning—before landing the co-anchor job on Primetime in 2004. In 2007, he was named co-anchor on Good Morning America (he'd been the unofficial co-anchor since 2006). He now gets to arrive at the studio bleary-eyed every morning to see Diane Sawyer, Robin Roberts, and Sam Champion's man-glow.

Close call

A reporting assignment in Iraq in January 2007 nearly ended Cuomo's life. Cuomo's convoy of armored Humvees was hit in northwest Baghdad. One member of the convoy was injured; Cuomo escaped unharmed.

Family ties

Chris is the younger brother of New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. His sister, Maria Cuomo Cole, is married to designer Kenneth Cole. He has two other siblings: Margaret Cuomo, a physician, and Madeline Cuomo, a lawyer.

Personal

Cuomo has long been a fave with the ladies. He made People's "Most Beautiful People" list in 1997 and was picked as "New York's most eligible bachelor" by W around the same time. Once romantically involved with restaurateur Donatella Arpaia, he finally settled down with Cristina Greeven, the founder of Manhattan File magazine and now the editorial director of Jason Binn's Niche Media. The couple married in 2001 and has two kids—a daughter, Bella, and a son, Mario. The family lives on West 64th Street, in the same building as Gerry Laybourne.

True story

Cuomo was lucky (or prescient) enough to bail out as a lawyer at Cassandra Capital Partners, the celebrity money management firm founded by Dana Giachetto. In 1999, Giachetto was arrested and sentenced to prison for bilking his celebrity clients.
