Who

A popular director of knee-slapping TV commercials, Buckley's a favorite of advertisers and is regularly hired to direct a handful of spots for the annual ad orgy also known as the Super Bowl.

Backstory

A former ad creative and commercial director at Jon Kamen's @radical Media, in 1997 Buckley teamed up with two partners, Hank Perlman and Steve Orent, and founded Hungry Man, a commercial production studio. Since pioneering ESPN's celebrated "This is SportsCenter" campaign with then-partner Ty Montague, Hungry Man has become a favorite of youth-seeking marketers looking for a little irreverence. A leading practitioner of the so-called "gags with tags" school of advertising comedy, Buckley has created commercials for Budweiser, GoDaddy (the one with the well-endowed pitchwoman), and CareerBuilder.com (the one with the monkeys), and he directed Monster.com's dot-com anthem "When I Grow Up," in which children aspire to be office drones. Buckley's Hungry Man, whose other clients have included American Express, Burger King, E*Trade, and Sierra Mist, also represents a dozen other commercial directors including Oscar-nominated Capote filmmaker Bennett Miller.

Personal

Buckley and his wife, Sharon, have three children, Kara, Ty, and Liam. They live on the Upper East Side.
