Richard Gere Closes in Water Mill

146162Richard Gere and wife Carey Lowell have closed on the sale of their home in Water Mill. The 5,500-square-foot residence set on 1.2 acres sold to Susan Boland and Kelly Granat for $5.9 million, which is about a third less than its original asking price of $8.8 million. [WSJ]
• Vicki Rosen-Solomon, the widow of private equity exec Adam Solomon, is selling her co-op at 956 Fifth. The three-bedroom apartment, which was purchased in 2002, is listed for $14.575 million. [Cityfile, Stribling]
• Suzanne Sheik, the jewelry designer and mother of Duncan Sheik, is selling her five-story UES townhouse. The 7,000-square-foot manse, which Sheik spent to years renovating, is on the market with Stribling's Barbara Evans-Butler for $17.5 million, or double what she paid for the home in 2007. [WSJ]
• Photographer Jade Albert has paid $2.595 million for a three-bedroom apartment at the Olcott at 27 West 72nd Street. [Cityfile]

Be Neighbors With Rupert Murdoch For $33 Million

145353• Broadway producer Hal Prince and his wife Judy have put their 13th-floor apartment at 834 Fifth Avenue on the market. The 4,750-square-foot duplex, which is up for sale for $33 million, comes with two bedrooms, two terraces, and neighbors like Rupert Murdoch and John Gutfreund. [NYO, FRG]
Richard Gere and Carey Lowell are expected to close on the sale of their Water Mill home this week. The 1.2-acre property, which they first put on the market in February, had been listed for $7.2 million when it went into contract last month. [Newsday, Stribling]More

Julianne Moore's West Village townhouse is up for sale. Moore picked up the five-story, six-bedroom home on West 11th Street for $3.5 million in 2003. It can now be yours for $11.95 million. [NYO, Sotheby's, Curbed]
• Emeril Lagasse has closed on the purchase of developer Penny Bradley's 6,900-square-foot townhouse at 158 East 61st Street for "around" its most recent asking price of $11.5 million. Now that he's found a new place to store his pots and pans, the chef and Food Network fixture has put his condo at the Beekman Regent up for sale for $5.995 million. [NYP, BHS]
• Chris Burch, the entrepreneur and ex-husband of Tory Burch, has picked up a new Hamptons home. Burch paid "around $9 million" for the Southampton estate of disgraced Bear Stearns exec Ralph Cioffi. The property had been listed at $10.7 million when it went into contract last month. [NYP]More

Berkshire Hathaway Exec Buys Dreier's Old Pad

143354• Disgraced lawyer Marc Dreier's condo at One Beacon Court—along with his half-eaten pie and Christian Liaigre furnishings—sold at auction yesterday for $8.2 million after 45 people placed bids on the 3,000-square-foot pad. The buyer is Ajit Jain, a protégé of Warren Buffet and the head of Berkshire Hathaway's reinsurance group. [NYDN]
• Art dealer W. Graham Arader III has taken his mansion at 1016 Madison Avenue off the market. The 12,000-square-foot home went on the market for $75 million last October and was reduced to $65 million last month. [NYO]
• Attorney Bruce Blakeman, who launched a long shot bid for mayor this year, but is probably better known as the ex-husband of Paul McCartney's girlfriend Nancy Shevell, has picked up a new home in Water Mill. Blakeman bought the six-bedroom house for $2 million. [Newsday]

Richard Gere Cuts, Morgan Stanley's Ex-CFO Sells

141630Richard Gere and Carey Lowell have sliced $1.6 million off the asking price of their seven-bedroom farmhouse in Water Mill. Priced at $8.8 million when it first went on the market in February, the 1.2-acre estate is now listed for $7.2 million. The pricecutting isn't restricted to the Hamptons, however. Gere slashed $3 million off the price of his spread at Palazzo Chupi in 2008 before taking it off the market entirely earlier this year. [Newsday, Stribling]
• David Sidwell, who retired as Morgan Stanley's CFO at the end of 2007, has sold his 26th-floor apartment at 25 CPW for $7.65 million. [Cityfile]
• An art world power couple is bidding goodbye to the Upper West Side.  Brett Gorvy, co-head of post-war and contemporary art at Christie's and Amy Gold, who is Christie's director of business development, have sold their three-bedroom apartment at 470 West End Avenue for $2.175 million. Daily Show Producer Finds a Buyer

139603Daily Show executive producer David Javerbaum and his wife Debra have gone into contract to sell their two-bedroom apartment at 144 West 18th Street. The Emmy-accessorized, third-floor spread, which went on the market for $1.9 million last July and has since undergone three price cuts, was most recently listed at $1.55 million. [Cityfile, Core]
• Media investor Michael Chambers, a son of Raymond Chambers, the co-founder of Wesray Capital and a former owner of the Nets, has paid $2.75 million for a two-bedroom loft at 140 Thompson Street. [Cityfile]
• After more than a year on the market, fashion designer Adrienne Vittadini has finally sold her 4,500-square-foot house in Water Mill. The five-bedroom home, which Vittadini listed for $7.6 million in 2007 and later dropped to $6.495 million in 2008, sold for $5 million. [Newsday]

Summer at the Hiltons, Price Cut on East 64th

138677• Want to rent Rick and Kathy Hilton's house in Water Mill for the summer? The 10,000-square-foot, six-bedroom home, which the Hiltons purchased for $2.385 million in 1999, is currently listed for $400,000 for season. [Newsday]
• Flavio Briatore, the Italian mogul and Heidi Klum's baby daddy, has put his apartment at the Plaza up for rent for $65,000 a month. It's not the only property he has on the market: He's been trying to unload a penthouse at One Beacon Court for $25 million since September. [NYT, Domus]
• George Hirsch, the founding publisher of New York who paid $2.7 million for an apartment at 111 Central Park North in 2007, has sold his former home at 246 East 32nd Street for $2.88 million. [Cityfile]
• The 10,000-square-foot mansion at 54 East 64th Street, which was once home to the offices of the Observer, has undergone a $9 million price cut. It's now listed for $27 million. [NYO, Sotheby's]

Kravitz Pulls Pad Off the Market

135851• Lenny Kravitz has been trying to sell his penthouse at 30 Crosby Street for the past few years; most recently, he slashed the price of the loft from $18.75 million to $14.995 million. Is he now planning to give up entirely? Over the weekend, the listing for Kravitz's 6,000-square-foot pad (which used to be located here) was pulled down from the Corcoran website, although whether the rocker plans to try again with a new broker is anybody's guess.
