Washington Lobbyists Land on Lower Fifth

147245• Washington power lobbyists and Democratic insiders Tony and Heather Podesta have been busy bees since Barack Obama was elected last fall. According to a report earlier this week, the couple's separate lobbying firms have racked up $25 million in fees thus far in 2009. Now they're spending some of their earnings, it seems: The couple has picked up New York pied-à-terre, paying $3.247 million for a sixth-floor apartment at the Sohmer Piano Building at 170 Fifth Avenue. • Four months after it was pulled off the market, the Sloane Mansion on 68th Street has a new listing and a new broker. The 104-year-old mansion, which was purchased by bankers Joseph Ingrassia and John Rice III for $20 million in 2007 and was offered for $64 million last year, is now in the hands of Corcoran's Leighton Candler. And it's almost half the price it was a year ago. The new listing has it priced at $39 million. [NYO, Corcoran]
• A one-bedroom co-op at the Sherry-Netherland has gone on the market for $9.5 million with Brown Harris Stevens broker Richard Wallgren. [NYO]

Sbarro Heir Sells, Eli Broad De-Lists

142149• Anthony Sbarro, heir to the pizza empire founded by his parents in the 1950s and a vice chairman at the company, has sold his 1,600-square-foot apartment at the Essex House on Central Park South for $3.25 million. [Cityfile]
• After ten months and three price cuts, financier and philanthropist Eli Broad has decided to take his full-floor apartment at the Sherry-Netherland off the market. The two-bedroom co-op, which Broad first put up for sale last August for $15 million, had most recently been listed for $10.95 million. [WSJ]
• Money manager Raymond Cubero and his wife, Kathleen Comerford, have put their Trump Tower duplex on the market with Paula Del Nunzio for $14.995 million. [NYO, BHS]More

Ed Bradley's CPW Apartment Up for Sale

136460• Patricia Blanchet, the widow of 60 Minutes correspondent Ed Bradley, has put the home where she and Ed lived for more than 30 years on the market. The 3,600-square-foot apartment at 285 Central Park West is currently listed for $7.4 million. [WSJ, Corcoran]
• Real estate developer Mark Kalimian and his wife Keren paid $9.1 million for an 18th-floor apartment at the Brompton on East 85th Street. [Cityfile]
• Mutual fund exec Charles Johnson and his wife Ann paid $3 million for a two-bedroom apartment next door to the one they already own at the Sherry Netherland. The apartment was previously owned by the late insurance executive Gerald Tsai Jr. [NYO]

Hugh Jackman In Contract at 176 Perry

130438♦  Hugh Jackman has reportedly gone into contract on a triplex apartment at 176 Perry Street for more than $25 million. The 11,032-square-foot spread, which was originally listed for $40 million and later dropped to $33 million in April, is owned by Sun Microsystems co-founder Bill Joy. [NYO]
