For Once, Perelman and Duff Settle on Something

132081"It's a holiday miracle," reports the Post: Ron Perelman and Pat Duff, participants in the nastiest divorce case New York has seen in decades, have settled their dispute over custody of the couple's daughter, Caleigh. Full details of the resolution haven't been released just yet, but the judge did disclose that "part of the settlement included all three continuing to see court-arranged therapists." Ron Perelman has a shrink? And you thought you had the worst job in the world! [NYP]

Litigation

Pat Duff Goes It Alone | Pat Duff has access to the best lawyers money can buy, so naturally when it came time to pick someone to represent her in a pending custody case with her ex-husband Ron Perelman over their daughter Caleigh, she went with the best: herself. The choice is a little odd—she didn't even go to law school!—until you consider that she and her ex-husband spent $15 million+ on lawyers during their divorce war in the '90s. Maybe she's picked up a thing or two? [NYP]

The Battle for Caleigh Perelman, 2008 Edition

122858 Ron Perelman and Pat Duff have returned to familiar territory: They're back in court and at each other's throats. Parties to what may be the nastiest divorce in New York history—they racked up an estimated $15 million in legal expenses between the two of them in the mid-'90s and the case took nearly two years to resolve—the duo returned to Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday to bicker over their daughter, Caleigh. It seems Caleigh, who is 13, wants to stay with her dad and end her weekend visits with mom; her court-appointed attorney also sought an order of protection against Duff, claiming Duff subjected her daughter to "abuse," although he didn't specify what sort. (A strict diet perhaps?) More
