Gisele's Bump, The Fashion of War, The CFDA Meet-Up

143633Gisele Bundchen's baby bump was retouched out of London Fog's fall ad campaign. But if you're absolutely dying to see it, the new issue of People seems to deliver. [WWD, Cut, F'gie]
• WWI influenced fashion. So did WWII. And Vietnam. So why is it that we're not seeing the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq reflected on the catwalk? [AP]
• What went down at the CFDA's "town hall" yesterday: Anna Wintour sort of proposed flouting anti-trust laws to boost the fashion industry, Diane von Furstenberg was sort of horrified by the idea, and then Anna informed the room that she has connections in the White House. [NYO] More

Pat Field's New Target, Rachel Zoe's Return

142319• Stylist Pat Field may not take part in the Sex and the City sequel—it seems she can't bear the idea of Carrie Bradshaw going from "fashionista to recessionista." But she does have a bit of advice for Susan Boyle, which is nice. [Grazia]
• The return to scarcity: Saks and Neiman Marcus report they're ordering a lot less inventory than they did last year, not surprisingly. [Bloomberg]

New Lines, Narciso, The Worst of The City

136759• Moises de la Renta—son of Oscar/ex-Phat Farm intern—is launching a clothing line. It's called MDLR; no points for figuring out what that stands for. [SF]
• Kevin Federline is launching a children's clothing line. He's currently attending a trade show in Las Vegas "in the interest of research," in case you happen to be looking for him. [WWD]
• Jenna Jameson is launching a fragrance. [NYDN]
• Michelle picked Narciso Rodriguez for Barack's speech before Congress. [SF]
• Roberto Cavalli isn't skipping Milan Fashion Week completely. And Victoria Beckham's headed to town, so the week is shaping up nicely. [FWD, WWD]

Children of Privilege

Moises de la Renta, Creative Multitasker

133880For any mere mortal with an unfamous last name, now would be about the worst time to launch a new business. But no such earthly considerations apply when you're fashion royalty like Moises de la Renta, Oscar de la Renta's adopted son, who tells Paper's Paul Johnson-Calderon that he's now working on a womenswear label, MDLR, as well as starting up a small design firm or "hub." PJC also reveals that Moises is an "uber-talented photographer," which makes it all the sadder that his relationship with camera-obsessed social Genevieve Jones didn't last long enough to earn her a thick portfolio of glossy pics.

According to Peter Davis, she's dating Moises de la Renta, the (adopted) son of fashion tycoon Oscar de la Renta. Hold on tight, sweetheart. [Paper Mag]
